Welcome to the 2009-2010 school session at Houma Junior High School. I am anticipating a wonderfully challenging year, and I am pleased that you will be a part of it. Successful students in English/Language Arts will be able to read, interpret, respond to, and evaluate given materials by engaging in frequent, meaningful writing and oral activities using Standard English grammar. Skills learned in this class should help students communicate about issues they encounter in academic subjects as well as in everyday life.
