carnivore-  an animal that eats only other animals
herbivore-  an animal that eats only plants
omnivore-  an animal that eats both plants and other animals
food chain-  the path of food energy in an ecosystem as one living thing eats another
food web-  two or more food chains that overlap
photosynthesis- a process in which plants use energy from sunlight to make food
predator-  an animal that hunts other animals for food
prey-  an animal that is hunted for food by a predator
decay-  to break down into simpler materials
decomposer-  a living thing that breaks down the remains of dead organisms
microorganism-  a tiny living thing that can only be seen with a microscope
recycling- the process of breading down materials into a different form that can be used again
scavenger- an animal that feeds on the remains or wastes of other animals
