Many exciting things are happening in our classroom! We are having a great year and learning so much everyday. The students are working hard and I am very proud of the progress that they have made. Keep up the great work! Check your child's folder every night for their behavior color for the day, graded papers, newsletters, reports, and notes from the teacher. Please continue to encourage your child daily to do his/her personal best. ![]()
First grade is a critical year for reading development. Please help your child be successful by including the activities listed (Reading Tips for Parents) in your daily routine at home. Remember to read 30 minutes each night with your child. It is important that you ask questions and interact with your child while he/she is reading. Have your child go back and find details to support his/her answers in the story. This is an important skill for students to be able to do.![]()
Make sure to check over your child's homework before he/she turns it in. Students should be coming to school prepared to take AR tests throughout the week, as that is included as part of their homework--reading at home. For the most part the homework routine is the same each week: Read 1 AR book, spelling or vocabulary sheet, and math sheet. Please refer to the homework planner for any changes. Thank you for helping your child with his/her homework.

Contact the office to get a pin number for parent link and AR. You can check your child's grade right from your computer, as well as their lunch funds, AR record, and attendance record. You will receive weekly emails of their grades as entered and other important information. This is a great way of knowing what their grade is every week. ![]()
