Welcome to Ms. Tricia's Class!!

I hope that everyone enjoyed their summer break!  It's time for another successful school year to begin and I am looking forward to working with your child this year.  First grade is definitely fun, but also an abundance of learning will be taking place.  I will be spending the majority of the day with your child, teaching them, but I expect the teaching to continue once they get home.  Please inquire about their day, look at their take home work and test papers, and take part in your child's education. If they see that you care, they will care.  If there are ever any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me through email, phone calls, or simply a written note.

   About Me

I attained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  I taught kindergarten for four years before becoming a first grade teacher.  This will be my fourth year at LeBlanc Elementary in a first grade position.

About our classroom

 Rules:
I  follow the PBIS classroom rules as stated by our school.

Respect others

Observe good manners

Are responsible and safe

Reach our goals

  Discipline:

Students that do not follow the rules will be given a warning, consequence, and/or infraction.  This will be recorded on their weekly behavior chart in their take home folder.  Students are responsible for recording the information and explaining to their parents why they received a warning, consequence, and/or infraction. PLEASE hold your child accountable for relaying this information to you.  First graders are very responsible and can easily perform this task.  You should be initialing their behavior chart every night.

Your child will be rewarded for excellent behavior in several different ways throughout the school year.  I believe that recognition of excellent behavior is a definite must.  I will be implementing a new reward system this year, as well as, some other new ideas I have discovered over the summer.  I'm sure that your child will be elated to tell you all about it whenever they get home!
