Every Friday your child will write a friendly letter to you about their week at school. The kiddos are working on friendly letters. They will include the date, a header, the body and a closing. They will write about events important to them . This is a lens through their eyes:)

We brainstorm our favorite memories from the week. Then the kids following the steps of the writing cycle to brainstorm, write, edit, revise and rewrite you a weekly letter. This models what writers do in real life. 

The kiddos are at different stages on the writing continuum so each letter will reflect your child's writing. They will be kid friendly, not perfect.

Please read the letter and write back to your child. We will write our letter each Friday in class. This is a great way to practice writing in an authentic and real world way.
