I was born in South Carolina and lived their a short amount of time. Since my father was in the Air Force we moved a few times. My family moved to Kennesaw in 1967 where I attended Kennesaw Elementary, Awtrey Middle and North Cobb High. As a youth I was involved in cheerleading, softball, and powder-puff football. My experience and enjoyment of sports has influenced my choice to teach physical education.

I began teaching physical education in 1992 after receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Health at Kennesaw State University. My first teaching job was at Lewis Elementary where I taught for 4 years. My next 7 years were spent teaching at Green Acres Elementary in Smyrna. I wanted to teach in the community that I knew best and received the opportunity at Bullard Elementary.  I am also an instructor as Kennesaw State University where I teach college level Fitness for Living classes.

I have a Masters in Health Promotion from the University of Alabama (2004), and most recently I received my Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in 2007.

I was married in 1985 to my husband, Jerry. We have two great children, Kellie (22) and Michael (17). Kellie is a law student at UGA while MIchael is a senior at North Cobb High School.  As a family we enjoy going to University of Tennessee football games and playing tennis. We enjoy our friendly family tennis matches!  As a member of the Bullard Physical Education Staff our goal is to promote success through movement.

I love being at Bullard!
