SEPTEMBER NEWS
The children eat snack in school every afternoon. Please be sure to send in a healthy snack and drink. No glass bottles and no candy please. Snack is not provided by the Bayonne school system.
In Literacy this month, we will introduce the Fundations Phonics program and our Literacy program, My Vision. A homework packet will be sent home every week. Please make sure to complete the practice activities at home with your child. This month we are practicing our letter, keyword, sound for t, b and f. Your child should be able to know the keyword and letter sound and write the letters correctly following the Fundations method practiced in school and shown in the weekly homework packet. We are beginning our writing program by writing our first name.
In Math, we are using the math program, Go Math. We are introducing the numbers 1 & 2. Check your child's homework packet for weekly math homework.
In Science, we are using the science program, Science Dimensions . We will begin Unit 1 - Engineers, and talk about the season of Fall.
In Social Studies, we will be talking about School Rules and Friends.
Scholastic Book Orders will be sent home every month. Our next order is due Friday, September 26th . Orders can be placed online or sent in to school. NO CASH will be accepted as payment - checks or money orders only made out to Scholastic Books. Remember that every order helps our classroom receive new and exciting materials!
Please fill out your child's lunch order form .
Please label EVERYTHING your child wears.
Be sure to complete any papers that come home the day that they are received and put them in your child's folder on the Back To School side. Homework packets are sent home every Monday and are due every Friday.
