HOWDY PARTNERS!


Welcome families and friends!  We've had a great first half of the school year!  It's hard to believe that we have already began the 3rd quarter.  Please note that as we begin the 3rd quarter, requirements will become much more difficult.  It is extremely important to review the required skills with your child each and every night.  I'd like to thank all families and friends for the support you've given this year.  Your continued help and support at home has made this school year a great one!  Thanks again for all you do!

CLASS GOAL

By May 2010, 100% of students will score 80% or higher when asked to produce the first 54 phonograms that are a part of the Spalding Phonics Program.  This means that all students will need to know 43 or more phonograms by the end of the 2009-2010 school year!

 IMPORTANT REMINDERS

• Please check your child's homework folder and planner each evening, as this is a way I like to communicate with you about our day. 
• Please remember to initial your child's homework calendar each night. 
• Please review our weekly sight words, word family words, letters and phonograms daily.
• Reading with your child daily helps to foster a love and enjoyment of reading!  Each month, I send home a monthly book order.  I'd like to encourage everyone to take the time to look over the order forms together.
• Please make sure your child is in complete uniform EVERY DAY!  This includes RED, WHITE, or NAVY BLUE polo shirts, kahki or navy bottoms and belts with solid shoes and socks!
