We are working on a historical fiction unit. The students will be writing an essay that will focus on using a historical setting, foreshadowing, flashback, onomatopoeia, transitions, dialogue, and sentence structure variety.

The students are currently working on a 1940's way of life worksheet to help them understand what life in the 1940's was like. The students are working on it in class, but they can also work on it at home. The website shown on the worksheet is a hotlist of suggested sites, but the students can use other sources, including interviews, to gather information. They must have at least two facts listed in the What I Learned column for each section.
