Designed to extend the students' abilities to use the computer into the more specialized areas of desktop publishing. Internet searching and professional presentations are covered. Instruction in Microsoft Publisher 2007 and Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 is provided.
Introduction to Computer Application
Designed to build upon the middle school experiences in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software; and extend the students' abilities to use the computer into the more specialized areas of desktop publishing. Advanced instruction in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Desktop Publisher is provided. The class is using Microsoft 2007 software.
Web Page Design
Designed to extend the students' abilities to use the computer into the more specialized areas of web page design. Instruction in Microsoft FrontPage is provided.
Economics
American Economics is designed to give students a detailed look at the American economic system. Students will learn the fundamental concepts of micro-, macro-, and international economics and apply them in intellectually engaging ways. The course will delve into such topics as scarcity and choice, economic institutions, markets and prices, supply and demand, Gross Domestic Product, inflation and deflation, competition and market structure, as well as many more.
Accounting 1
Accounting I is designed for those students who plan a college major in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or marketing. The skills obtained in this course are vital in the understanding of relationships of various records in the accounting system and can be valuable on both a personal level and a career level.
The initial balance sheet approach is used to develop the principle of accounting. From a simple beginning accounting cycle of journalizing and posting, there is the expansion to include use of special journals and worksheets. Internet activities and cases for critical thinking are included at the end of each chapter to give practice in applying principles studied.
