Personal Information:

My name is Angie Copeland and I was born and raised in Dillon, South Carolina.  Upon graduating high school, I came to Greenwood because I had a full-tuition scholarship to Lander University.  I eventually transferred to Francis Marion University where I completed my degree in Secondary Mathematics with a minor in Biology.  After college I got married and moved to Abbeville.  That fall I began my first teaching job in Laurens, SC, where I taught seventh grade math and science.  I remained there for 5 years.  In 2001 I came to Greenwood High School, and I was  a teacher in the ninth grade academy for 8 years.  Three years ago I completed my master's degree in middle school mathematics.  This is my first years with the ACTS program.
My husband is a train engineer for CSX and I have one son, Trey, who is in the fourth grade.  We also have a cat, Guisseppi, and a dog, Penelope.

    Make Up Work:

If you are absent it is your responsibility to get your assignments, not mine. If you are only absent for 1 day, then I expect the work when you return the next day. If I have free time at the end of class you can work on it then but free time is not to be expected. I prefer all make up work to be done in the mornings from 7:30 to 7:50. I will also be available after school on Wednesdays and Fridays until about 4:00. The district states that you have 5 (school) days to complete your make up work.  Please take care of any missed assignments as soon as you return to school.

    My morning hours are:

I will be at school every morning at 7:30.  I can assist students with make up work or questions during that time.  I can help students on Wednesdays and Fridays, too.  Any student who feels like they need extra time on a test or quiz can come in early to start the test (only on the day of the test).
Students may also come in my room to help each other during the morning time.

    RULES:

My classroom rules are your typical ones. Stay seated, no talking while I'm talking, no gum, have proper dress, etc. I will not tolerate any behavior that is rude or that interrupts the learning process. You will always have notes on the overhead when you come in my room. Start working ASAP. This will be when you sharpen your pencils, not while I'm teaching.
