Welcome to my classroom at Greenwood High. I am looking forward to working with both you and your child.  I earned my degree in English Secondary Education from Lander University. I am a South Carolina Teaching Fellow, awarded because of my interest and drive in education. During my clinicals at Lander, I worked in a variety of school settings. I have also worked at other schools as a volunteer. I have been very involved in the lives of children for a long time. While at Lander, I worked as a camp counselor and lifeguard; a tutor in English, French, and Biology; a peer mentor and orientation leader to freshman at Lander University; and a mentor for the younger Lander Teaching Fellows.
Your child’s education is my major concern, but I cannot do it alone. Please encourage your child to do his/her best and to keep trying. My motto for this year is “Effort is Priority”. Thank you for your support. At any time if you have questions or concerns please contact me at school during the day, 864-941-5600. Feel free to email me as well, platts@gwd50.org.  I look forward to working with both you and your child.
