The Wetlands Institute introduces two new festivals!

In with the new...
Dr. Lenore Tedesco, Executive Director with the Wetlands Institute said "There is a lot of enthusiasm over the 2013 schedule of programs and we are excited to share them with our South Jersey community. Our special events programs include some major changes going forward. We are focusing our events on educational experiences for the community and working to provide opportunities for adults, as well as children, to learn in the natural world."
One of the most significant changes to this year's schedule of events is a major change to the Wings 'N Water Festival. The Wings 'N Water Benefit Auction will be held on Saturday, August 3rd. The other traditional Wings 'N Water Festival events will become part of a new Fall Migration Festival scheduled for September 21-22. We will no longer hold the Wings 'N Water Art and Carving show. The Quilters Show will be part of the Fall Migration Festival.
The Institute will also hold its first-ever Spring Shorebird and Horseshoe Crab Festival on May 18-19, in partnership with the Delaware Bay Shorebird Initiative. Look for a great line up of horseshoe crab and shorebird education and conservation programs for the family to enjoy including live animal demonstrations, guided bird viewing tours, opportunities to help band migrating Red Knots and other shorebirds, and night beach walks to see spawning horseshoe crabs.
