Reading: Read 2 steps
We believe that homework is an essential part of the learning process. Homework is assigned to review, practice and/or enrich classroom learning. Homework is assigned nightly and expected to be completed neatly and correctly and handed in the very next day, unless otherwise noted. Please expect your child to have his/her homework assignments written in their planners every day and ask to see them each night so that you are aware of assignments.Your child should be able to complete the assignments with minimal help, since we've reviewed each assignment during classtime. Please check that the assignments are completed and remind your child to pack them in their book bag.
We will assign homework Monday through Thursday night. There will also be ongoing projects/assignments that need to be worked on and any work not finished during classtime may become homework as well. Of course, each student will have their nightly reading of 2 steps for the 100 Book Challenge.
We never want homework to be an argument.......No one benefits from this!
If there are any problems or concerns with homework, please let us know. Just write a note in your child's homework book, email us or call the school and leave a message. We'll work it out.
Our classroom follows the district homework policy:
Homework will receive one of the following grades:
v+ for excellent homework
v for satisfactory homework
v- for unsatisfactory homework
Any homework not handed in on time will receive a grade of 0%. One day is given to complete the homework assignment and the grade is then changed to a v- late, or 70%.
