Welcome to a new school year! On this page you will find links to our homework in Reading, Science and Social Studies. You will also find any important upcoming events such as field trips and school activities. Be sure to check back often.

                                  Welcome To Fourth Grade!

The summer is over and a new school year is begining.  Things are just getting started, but I am very excited about all the things we will be learning and experiencing. IF you made it to Meet Your Teacher Day, then you learned that your student will have three teachers this year. Myself for reading, science and social studies, Mr Westerlind for math,  and Ms. Pastre for writing. Their websites are linked on the side for you to visit as well.
In reading class, we will be learning thousands of new vocabulary words! Your help at home is very important! Each week your student will come home with a paper titled Home-School Connection. This paper will have the vocabulary words and spelling words listed  on it. It will also give you a bit of and idea of what the skill is we are working on that week (i.e, main idea/detail, author's purpose, etc.). Please be sure you ask for this paper and keep it at home so that you can study nightly.
             HOMEWORK:
The students will be given homework nightly (except most Fridays). If they say they have none, you can check the websites or have them study vocabulary and spelling, multiplication facts,  read AR for 30 minutes, or write in a journal. The idea of homework is to be extra practice. There are also several websites that you can go to that will make practicing at home more fun. Please, please, please help us make your student understand how important homework is. Thank you.
