Friday, October 17th will be the end of PARP (Parents As Reading Partners). The kids have done a great job of getting their slips signed weekly. The prizes have been fun also!

Reading & Language: 
*** Reminder: Now you can read the story in our Reading book at home.....just click on the link at the top of the page on the left hand side called Our Reading Book. 
~ Be sure to click on the Reading Series link above and then on the story we are reading this week. Encourage your child to play some of the games (ex. spelling, vocabulary, etc) that go with each story in our Reader!
Math:

AR Update
Below are our current point club AR readers. Way to go, guys! Last day of 1st quarter is October 23rd. We have earned our 120 AR points so we will be celebrating with a cookout this Friday!
Often parents ask what they can do to help their child be more successful. Here's a few tips:
** Read nightly with your child.
** Practice addition and subtraction facts for speed and accuracy.
** Check Planner daily to see what the homework is.
** Check homework daily. Discuss any problem areas and correct mistakes.
** Review with your child the graded papers that are sent home.

It is very important to me to keep the lines of communication open between home and school. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or suggestions. I can be reached every morning from 8:15 to 8:45 and afternoons from 3:20 to 4:00.
