 Mr. Lewkowitz's Website

A little about myself...

I am in my fifteenth year of teaching Physical Education and am proud to have been born and raised in Bayonne.  After nine years at Washington School and four years at Bayonne High School, I went on to attend William Paterson University for my undergraduate degree in Physical Education.  Upon completing my five years there I chose to pursue my Master's Degree in Athletic Administration at Gonzaga University located in Spokane, WA.  I have since taught one year at a Jersey City high school, four years in the Bayonne elementary schools, and am currently in my eleventh year at Bayonne High School.  In 2016 I obtained my NJ State Supervisor and Principal certificates after completion of the program at Kean University.

Athletics have always been a large part of my life, it's hard to remember a time of my life when I have not been involved in an organized sports league.  A healthy diet and daily exercise are also two things that are very important to me.  I believe that taking care of your own body in this way is something that every person owes to themself.  These are just a few of the skills/knowledge that I want to pass on to my students.  I feel that if healthy habits are started while the students are young they will continue to practice those habits throughout a lifetime.

Some of the things that I expect of my students in class...

I expect my students to always respect both themselves and each other.

I expect my students to recognize that every individual has varying skill levels in all activities that we perform and that it's perfectly alright to not be the best at everything.

I expect my students to participate to the best of their abilities during all activities.

I expect my students to put safety above all else when participating.

I expect my students to NOT bully and/or make fun of others.

I expect my students to have fun and enjoy themselves during my class periods.
