I am so glad to be back at school with all of my amazing artists!  We have so many projects planned for this year which will focus around the theme of careers.  All students will learn about careers which relate to the subject of art while creating their art work this year.  Please check out the web links for some fun art websites!

This year in the visual art program at Nannie Berry Elementary School children will realize that each one of them is truly an artist!  Students will learn how to use their right brain just as an artist does through:

• learning and understanding the elements and principals of art.
• working with different mediums and processes to create art
• viewing and learning about different cultures and their use of art throughout history.
• developing critical thinking skills while discussing art created by different artists, including themselves. 

Everything that surrounds us which is not part of nature exists because of art.  Every person makes artistic decisions every day.  Students will realize this and will learn how to consciously use their artistic brain to solve problems, make decisions, express ideas and feelings, and to understand and appreciate these abilities in other human beings.
