Now that we have learned so much about research, use SCdiscus.org for your everyday informational needs.  Remember it was created for SC students, and it is a safe place to find all kinds of information.  We use it at school, but it is available for home use as well.  If you are online at home, please check it out!  The username is discus09, and the password is infonow. 


Let the Circle be Unbroken by Mildred Taylor is the sequel to Roll of Thunder...  Many students have expressed an interest in reading the "rest of the story."  The book level is appropriate for all my students.

Trade-A-Book is located on Trolley Road.  You can purchase used books and trade books for store credit.


Fourth quarter AR grade sheets have been sent home.  Thanks to all of you parents who supported my effort to create independent readers.  PLEASE keep reading over the summer.  A good rule of thumb (idiom) is to read for as many hours each day as you spend watching TV and playing video games!

 

Important: Middle school teachers will expect you to write in cursive at times.  Keep practicing each day.  Our most common mistake in 5E and 5C is forming letters from the bottom instead of the top.  It is very hard to change once you have practiced the wrong way.  Everyone has handwriting sheets with diagrams and arrows to show the correct form.  PLEASE use them!
