Computer Labs

We currently have five computer labs at KES.  One of the labs will be utilized by 4K and Kindergarten students and the other four are utilized by first through fifth grade students.

Waterford Lab for 4K and Kindergarten

4K and Kindergarten classes will be working on a new computer program called Waterford.  Waterford will give students the opportunity to practice and master reading and math skills in the computer lab.  We are very excited for the students to begin working on this wonderful and valuable program!

Compass Labs

First grade through fifth grade students will continue to work on reading and math skills in the Compass lab each day.  Students will begin taking the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) on Setember 15 and continue through October 12.  This test assesses student reading and math skills and gives teachers immediate feedback on how their students are doing in each subject level.  These scores are downloaded into Compass and learning paths are created for the students.  These learning paths allow for students to practice and and strengthen skills in reading and math based on their individual needs.

SMART Boards

KES is equipped with SMART Boards in every classroom.  SMART Boards are interactive white boards that allow students to use their hands as a mouse.  KES teachers create SMART Board lessons that are interactive and based on grade level state standards.  Students are able to have a hands on approach to learning by using this wonderful technology tool.

Senteo: Answer Response Systems

Taking tests just got interesting!  Students can now use Senteos, answer response systems remotes, to answer questions with the click of a button!  It's a different and engaging approach to taking tests, quizzes or checking for students' understanding of a skill that has just been introduced.

We are booming with technology at KES!
