GRADES PK-4

 

Activities:
Students in grades PK-4 will learn to use library resources, develop study skills, enhance listening skills, and develop reading skills and a love of reading.

 

Student Responsibilities:

 

  • · Participate in class discussions and activities.
  • · Work quietly and cooperatively.
  • · Follow library rules.

 

GRADES 5-8

 

Activities:
Students in grades 5-8 will learn to use a variety of reference materials, enhance their library and study skills, and develop a love of reading. Students will participate in the following activities: reading for enjoyment, book talking, online card catalog searches, mini-research projects, Google Slides projects, oral presentations, note cards/research for term papers, and library scavenger hunts.

 

Student Responsibilities:

 

  • · Participate in class discussions and activities.
  • · Be prepared for class by bringing pen/pencil, assignments, and notebook.
  • · Work quietly and cooperatively.
  • · Follow library rules.

 

Homework:

 

Students will meet for library according to their schedule for the 2022-2023 school year, however additional research time is available during language arts. Students will be required to complete reading assignments, projects, and prepare for oral presentations. Because these projects are in coordination with the language arts curriculum, both his/her language arts teacher, as well as myself, will assess major projects and presentations

 

Assessment:

 

Students will be evaluated as follows:

 

  • · Class participation/preparation/homework - 25%
  • · Classwork - 25%
  • · Tests, projects, presentations - 25%
  • · Reading assignments/quizzes - 25%
