Librarian's Note
Thanks for visiting the Adamsville Library Website! Visit here often to find information, jump to favorite book and author pages, and see what's new.
This year's theme is Reading Rocks! Reading is the foundation of new learning. It can open your mind to a world beyond your dreams. We have been keeping track of the number of books read by Adamsville Students. So far, from November through February, Adamsville has read 8,299 books! We set a goal for March of 3,000 books. Did we do it? Find out soon.
We were lucky to have the PTO bring The Cat's Pajamas to our school to celebrate our reading with a Reading Rocks Concert. Visit www.howlinrecords.com to see more about The Cat's Pajamas. Thanks, PTO! Here was the big surprise: Mrs. Mumber, Ms. Luyben, and Mrs. Mahna can ROCK! There may be more performances to come.
As we celebrate Read Across Adamsville month, we also had a visiting author last Friday, Lisa Funari Willever. She rocked our world! Visit her website at www.franklinmasonpress.com. I'm putting in one last order for signed author books. Order forms are in the library. Please return them by March 19th!
Library Schedule

Students return and take out new books according to their scheduled library day. Please see the Book Return Schedule to find out when your child's class will be visiting the library.
Teachers may sign up for additional library time, but this will not include book borrowing for students.
Library Policies
At each scheduled library visit, students may check out books according to their grade level limits. Limits may be increased as the year progresses. Students will not be allowed to borrow new books if they have overdue materials out. Please be sure to check the schedule and return those books on time! If you did not finish or want to keep a book that is currently out, make sure you put a RENEW slip into the book on your scheduled library day. I will renew those books and return them to the borrower during library that day.
PK: 1 book
K-2: 2 books
3-4: 3 books
Teachers may borrow books as necessary for their classrooms, but please be sure to return them as soon as possible so they are available to other readers when the class is through with each unit of study.
Rules and Procedures
All visitors to the library should remember that the library is a place of reading and learning. Please respect the rights of others and remember to:
1- Use a quiet voice.
2- Use walking feet.
3- Use shelf markers!
4- Listen carefully to instructions.
5- Participate fully in the learning experience.
Volunteering
The library is a great place for parents, grandparents, and guardians to volunteer! Volunteers help with many duties, including book check-out and return, shelving, telephone answering, book repair, and assisting students with information needs.
If you are interested, I fill time slots on a Monday-Friday schedule, morning or afternoon. The hours are flexible-- the help is greatly appreciated. Please contact Mrs. Mumber via phone or email: 908-526-6440 (ask for the library) or kmumber@brrsd.k12.nj.us. I hope to hear from you!
