Class Mission: My goal is to provide meaningful learning experiences for my students!

 

AR will be starting soon for everyone in the classroom! Accelerated reader is a great program to help your child learn to love to read.  Your child will be bringing home a book color coded according to their reading level.   Each student will be assigned a color, and will understand which books they may check out of the library. Parents, please supervise your child as he/she reads the book at home. Once they have read the book twice to you, they may return the book to school and take a test on the computer about that book.  In the beginning, I may read the test questions to your child until he/she can independently take the test. 

Your child will receive a certificate when they have earned 10 points.  When they earn 20 points they will receive their very own AR t-shirt!  To help keep track of the books your child has read and to let me know when he/she is ready for a test. I will be sending home an AR folder.   The paper inside the folder must be signed before he/she can take a test. Be on the lookout for more information regarding AR!
