"To Learn Is To Live"
If you have any questions/concerns, or would like to schedule a conference, you may reach me either by email or phone. My hours are 7:30-3:00 Monday-Friday. Phone number is 995-3600 and email is ErinENe@leeschools.net.
REMINDER: You should have received your school choice packets in the mail. Any students entering grades KDG, 6th, or 9th MUST complete a school choice application. You can fill it out on-line, by hand, or stop by the school choice office. If you want to be considered for your first choice, complete application ASAP. It does not matter if siblings are already at the middle school. 1st batch deadline is March. 5th.
Classroom News:
Make sure the office has on file: 1. a current emergency card, 2. authorization to photograph your child, and 3. authorization allowing your child to use the internet.
If your child is going to be absent, please have a note when they return. Any unexcused absence results in grades of a "zero" in the gradebook for that day. An example of an unexcused absence would be going out of town. Please refer to the district handbook if you have any questions.
Planners were given to each child compliments of HCE. If this planner is lost or destroyed, another can be purchased for $4.00 at the school store. This is a great way to keep in touch, and allows visualization of nightly homework.
Your child will have a minimum of 20 minutes of nightly reading. It can be any type of reading, as long as it is 20 minutes uninterrupted.
AR is worth a portion of your child's reading grade each quarter. Student levels are based on the STAR test. In order for your child to make their AR goal, they must have a minimum of 85% correct, along with their point total. This week, your child should have at least 22% of their point total. Remember, you may access your child's AR report using the home connect reading link at any time. The student planners have a wonderful reading log if your child is having trouble staying on task.
