Well we have survived the first 2 weeks of SCHOOL!!!!!

In Math we have completed our study of tree diagrams, independent and
compound probability, the addidion and multiplication principles of counting. 
On the 20th students took their first unit quiz and received them back on the
23rd.  Retest are allowed with a parent note indicating the grade and the desire to retest on Thursday, August 26th. We will be taking our second unit quiz on the 26th focusing on independ and compound events.

Since we are finishing up our discussion about probability and will be starting
on the Unit Performance Task towards the end of the week.  All Performance
Tasks are inclass assignments and count as a test grade (40%).  It is very important that your child be in class during the Performance Tasks.  Our unit 1 test is scheduled for Wednesday, September 1st.  Please check out the math websites for extra practice for your child.  Also, tutoring is available on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7:15-7:55am.

 

 In Georgia Studies we are also finishing up Unit 1 "Where in the World is Georgia?"  Students have completed their group presentations and have received the additional notes regarding this unit.  They are finishing up the Guided reading packets as well as the Location packet, and their themes poster projects are due on Friday, August 27th.  This is also the day they will be taking their  unit 1 test.  Next week we will be completing the inclass performance task for Unit 1.
