Sixth Grade
1-) Concept- expository essays- factual based. Current Story- "The Shutout". Trials and tribulations of the history of baseball.
2-) You should be reading your book of choice for AR points.
3-)Fridays will be Google Aps class sessions with Mrs. Ross.
We just finished up our digital storytelling and will begin work on "Life Around Here" online projects.

Lots of non-fiction and informational text this month and into February
Math connection- come the new year students will be working on an online integrated Math and Literacy story based math game. Take a peek online @ http://www.imagineeducation.org/kos-journey/
This is sure to provide extra excitement to an already literacy enriched class. These students have truly embraced the new trends with online education.
Google aps- new content that is added or will be added.

3-) Adding into google docs are "Special Education" essays
Sharing of the Migrant workers assignments
Dave, Elliot, and Sean...along with Malia, Annabelle, and Laura presented an interview with a migrant worker played by Malia, Spanish translations by Annabelle, and Laura the interviewer.
The fellas, AKA, Los Amigos, presented a rap song with content based on the lives of migrant workers.

Current Stories- "Emancipation Proclamation" and "Brown v. the Board of Education" Persuasive essay- Should volunteer work be mandatory. You should be working on acquiring your AR points. Stay in touch with members of your team to encourage and check point totals. |
