Welcome back to a new school year. I am Mrs. Roche and I will be your child's math teacher this year. By now you have received my letters and contracts with my information and expectations.
We have been working on Team building skills and strategies which will help us as we work on investigations throughout the year. Our class begins with a warm up everyday on the different curriculum standards. These are completed in the notebook the students keep in their binder. Friday's warm up is completed and handed in for a grade.
We will also started our POW's this week. We will work together and go through the five steps which should be included in every POW. In all classes we are using shapes and patterns to investigate number sense.
During our Enrichment classes we will be reading a selection of novels several days a week and incorporating a variety of educational activities on other days of the week.
We are looking forward to a great year and hope meet all of our school goals by the end of 8th grade. We have already had quite a few perfect attendance days. We also appreciate all the support you as parents give us each week to help us achieve these goals.
