Welcome:

The Everyday Mathematics Program is very fast paced.  It demands dedication, responsibility, and hard work from the student.  Your child will be working independently, with a partner and, at times, in small groups that require co-operative learning.

My class rules are quite simple.  I expect each student to: 1) Be on time to class.  2) Be prepared to work (this includes having a textbook, notebook, pencil and completed homework at all times) and 3) Show respect to everyone.

Every unit in the Everyday Mathematics textbook combines new material with previously learned skills and usually includes mathematically based games that enhance the skills taught in the lesson.

Each student will be subjected to periodic quizzes/tests and each marking period will usually include at least one home project which will be graded as a test (see grading policy).  Regular attendance and class participation is vital to succeed in this aggressive program.  Parents/Guardians are encouraged to assist with daily homework assignments but should understand your child may have been taught different methods or procedures for obtaining results.  Have your child complete the assignment and, if he/she doesn't understand, encourage them to ask questions in class.

I care about your child.  Please contact me by phone or email if you have any questions.
