Welcome to PreK!! For many of my students it will be a first time experience to be in a classroom environment. With the help of my assistant, Darlene Melancon, we plan to make your child's experience the best one possible. Together with your support, your child will have a great learning year and we are looking forward to starting this journey with your children.
My name is Amanda Douet. I am one of the Pre-Kindergarten teachers. I graduated from Breaux Bridge High School and also from University of Phoenix. I received my certification to teach the grade levels of PreK thru 3rd in 2012. I did my student teaching at ELC in 2010 and taught for two years at Trinity Catholic School. I am very happy to be back at ELC since 2012 to teach your children. I love the school and the atmosphere.
I have been married to Blake Douet for 25 years. We have four children. Their names are Dylan (21), Evelyn (19), Cole (10) and Finn (8).
My children are the ones who have inspired me to go back to school to become a teacher. They are my whole world and I will treat your children with the same respect.
I am grateful to have Mrs. Darlene Melancon who helps me with my students. She is wonderful with our little children.
