Welcome to Third Grade!
There are many exciting activities and projects planned for the students in the 2018-2019 school year. I am eager to work as a “teacher and parent team” to help make your child’s overall learning experience a positive and challenging one!
Homework Policy
Your child will be required to write their homework down in their planners each day. Students are provided a red homework folder. Please check the folder daily and assist your child with completing their assigned homework.
Academic Progress and Daily Conduct
Signed papers will be sent home every Wednesday in a yellow folder. This will enable you to monitor your child’s progress routinely. Please sign and return the next day.
Report cards will be sent home every nine weeks along with progress reports every 5th week of the grading period. One copy is for you to keep and one copy must be signed and returned to school.
Daily conduct reports will be sent home each night. Please initial by each day and return to school.

Consequences:
(Prior to receiving conduct 1, students will be given a verbal warning.)
Conduct 1: Reteach expectations
Conduct 2: Reteach expectations/conference with student
Conduct 3: Whole recess lost/Reteach expectations/Minor Infraction
Students will be given 4 minor infractions. After four minor infractions, the teacher will then bring documentation to disciplinarian or administration to discuss what further steps should be taken. Students may be issued a major infraction for the following behaviors: fighting, stealing, destroying property, bodily injury or harm to another, possession of a weapon, and leaving campus without permission.
Positive Rewards:
We will also be using class dojo for positive rewards and reinforcement. Each parent will be sent a code to sign up for our class at the beginning of the year. I also use class dojo for communication purposes so I ask that you please sign up.
