We sure did!
The LACUE board did an outstanding job bringing everyone together at the Hyatt Regency for their annual December conference. Thousands of school district members flooded the show floor with an eagerness to collaborate and learn. If you were in attendance, then you will undoubtedly share in our excitement about the overall experience. However, if you were not able to make it this year, then we urge you to take a look at some of our favorite parts from this 2016 Louisiana education technology conference and (hopefully) we’ll see you next time!
Wrapping Up the Year with a Celebration
There is no question that the response to this year’s LACUE was overwhelmingly positive. Administrators, directors of technology and curriculum, and teachers, were floating in and out through hundreds of technology partner booths by day, and enjoying a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres by night.
At each of the cocktail hours, there was live acoustic music filling the air, excitement at all of the in-booth activities, and most of all there were loads of conversations about everything to come for 2017 (including our newest data visualization software OnCourse Analytics).
A Beign-YAY for Every Boy and Girl
So many creative elements drawing attendees to the show floor this year, it was hard to narrow the list of favorites down. However, who could miss out on the opportunity to check out “Café du LACUE”? This year, attendees were treated to so much more than exclusively professional development opportunities… the LACUE board brought the beignets to the exhibit hall!
The lines formed rapidly as everyone got a chance to load up a plate with the sugar covered pastries. Rumor has it that there was also chocolate sauce available to drizzle on top of the sugar as well. It’s okay though because I heard that calories don’t count at conferences.
Rockin’ Around the OnCourse Tree
Who could forget the big, bright OnCourse tree that illuminated the LACUE hall entrance with the lovingly wrapped gifts underneath?
To show our appreciation to all of our loyal Louisiana education friends, we filled booth #114 with presents that attendees could win by playing a game in our new learning management system, OnCourse Classroom. We had 25 winners who went home with a spectrum of gifts; ranging from puppy dog salt and pepper shakers, all the way up to the TV that we had on display at the conference.
We had an amazing time, and look forward to seeing you all next year. To keep up with all of our future events, please follow us @OnCourseK12 on Twitter!
