Sixth Grade Language Arts
Get ready for a great year! We will be working really hard this year. We will learn about Greek Mythology, the Holocaust, Native American Culture, Egypt and Egyptian Mythology in our classroom! We will also work in our learning groups “ UDL centers” and develop independence while working on skills and learning to work with others.
Seventh Grade Language Arts
We will be working really hard again this year. We will learn about Utopian Societies, various cultures ,and learning how to properly cite sources when writing in our classroom! We will continue working in our learning groups “ UDL centers” and developing independence while working on skills and learning to work with others.
The Teacher's Education My name is April Dilks. The 2016-17 school year will be my 14th year of teaching, and this is my ninth year at Deerfield Township School. Before coming to DTS, I taught Kindergarten and First grade in Salem City, NJ for five years. I earned my Undergraduate degree from Wilmington College and my Masters’ degree from Walden University. As an undergraduate, I majored in Elementary Education. I earned my Masters Degree in Education with a focus on Language Arts. I am very excited to return to DTS and hope we have a great year!
A Little About Me In my years here at DTS I have taught 1st grade for two years fourth grade for two years. Currently I am teaching the sixth grade Language Arts which has been my home for the last for four years and am excited to continue with seventh grade Language Arts as well! I am the mother of a ten year old daughter (Georgia), and a step mom of four really great children (Dallas, Devon,Delaney and Drew), and I also have two four- legged children, my dogs (Boa and Gunner). I round this all out with a super supportive husband (Mike) to complete the group!
