Welcome to 2nd Grade

Dear Second Graders and Families,

Welcome to 2nd grade!  I am excited that you will be in our class and I am looking forward to a fabulous year.  Get ready to take chances, explore, and grow into life-long learners!

Let me take this chance to tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Long Valley, NJ.  I graduated from York College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  I have just recently moved back to New Jersey after living in York, PA for past 5 years.  This will be my seventh year teaching  and my third year in 2nd grade!

I enjoy traveling, cooking and spending time with my family. I bet you will be able to guess my favorite colors as soon as you step into our classroom!  I also LOVE to read and I am excited to share some of my favorite books with you! I am looking forward to learning more about you!

As the beginning of the school year quickly approaches, please plan to bring a healthy snack each day. Donations of healthy classroom snacks are welcomed.  I encourage you to take some time to set up a Homework Area at home.  You can keep your pencil box there and fill it with all the items you will need to complete your assignments.

It is very important to me that we work as a team throughout the school year.  Families are encouraged to contact me with any questions or concerns.  My email address is [email protected].  You can also call the school office and leave a message, and I will return your call as soon as I am available.

Second grade is an exciting year with lots to learn and explore. Enjoy these last few weeks of the summer! I look forward to seeing you on the first day of school and hearing all about what you have experienced and learned this summer and what your hopes and dreams are for 2nd grade!

Love,

Mrs. Ledwith
