Philosophy

The Washington Township Comprehensive Health Curriculum addresses not only the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and the national measures within the discipline, but also and most important, our District's vision of a systematic, comprehensive and innovative approach to comprehensive health/physical education. All students will be able to make dynamic life choices that place emphasis upon nurturing the physical, mental/emotional and social well-being forces that make up the human condition. They will also be able to design and model a healthy life-style that emphasizes the importance of balance in all areas of their lives and the individual responsibility for maintaining their health.

Each day of Wellness is worth 4 points!

 

Grading Points

P.E. Days

Preparation, Sportsmanship/Positive Behavior/ Following Directions:

25%: 1 Point Per Day

Warm-up (walking, calisthenics, flexibility, muscular endurance/strength):

25%: 1 Point Per Day

Knowledge (Written, Demonstrated, Answering questions): 

25%: 1 Point Per Day

Athletic/Physical Ability & Effort/Participation: 

25%: 1 Point Per Day

Total Points 

30 Days = 120 Points

   
Exemplary:   116-120 points 
Proficient: 90-115 points
Apprentice: 75-89 points
Novice: Less than 75 points
