Thursday- Write a sentence for each spelling word (sentences will be checked by the teacher)

-       This week we will be reading A Nut Falls and Plants Can’t Jump , review short e, introduce short u sound, review asking, telling, and exclamation   sentences, making predictions, word segmentation, beginning ,middle, and end, blends with r, comparing and contrasting, writing details, nouns-animals and things,  and comprehension.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Robust Words

 

        

 

 claimed- if you claimed something, you say it is yours

 

dine- saying that you dine is a fancy way of talking about eating

 

groaned – a person who groans makes a deep sound that shows unhappiness

 

classify-When you classify something, you put it in a group with other things like it

 

function- Something’s function is its use.  The function of a hat is to cover your head

 

nutritious- When something is nutritious, it is healthy to eat

Spelling words- us, bus, must, cut, cub, club, with, then, don’t says

 

 

 

Each week I will be giving students an oral reading test.  They will be expected to read 50 or more words in one minute.  Practice at home will help with making sure your child achieve that expectation.

resent- you may resent someone if you feel they are getting treated better than you
