Students will have Spelling words, and will test every other Friday. Their words come from the Phonics lesson for that week. In addition to 10 phonetic spelling words, they will also have 2 "Red words" to master each week.
What are Red Words??
Red words are those words that cannot be sounded out phonetically and do not follow any particular phonemic rule. They are red because the students need to stop (like a stop sign) and think about them.
