- SpringBoard Geometry.
(May STAY in Classroom – used every day!)
- 3-ring Binder or section
- Mechanical #2 Pencils with erasers
- Loose-Leaf Paper
- Pocket Folders
- Blue or Black Pens
- Calculator (same one from Algebra I – TI-84)
- 4 packs of Index cards (turn in 2, keep 2)
- Ruler and Protractor
- Compass (keep at home until 2nd semester)
- Colored pencils
- Quart zipper bags (turn in)
- You must have all needed material every day!
- If you come to class without materials, you will receive a referral.

Geometry grades are calculated as follows:
30% - LEAP (required end of course state test)
~35% - Assessments
Tests, Exams, Projects
~35% Daily Work
Daily Quizzes/Work, Classwork, Homework., Bell-ringers, Exit slips
All assignments are graded as percentages, not as points.

General Classroom Expectations
Your expectations in this class are to
- Respect me, yourself, each other, and school property.
- Attend every day and have all materials ready to learn when class begins.
- Be responsible! Always try your best!
- Follow the Knight’s Code.
Each student is expected to follow the guidelines and policies outlined in the SCCS Student Handbook along with our classroom expectations. If a student chooses to interfere with the learning process, the following consequences will be invoked:

Classroom Procedures
Masks (face coverings)
If mandated, masks are required to enter class. They should be worn the entire class time.**
Entering the Classroom
- Enter silently, sanitize your hands, pick up a paper towel, and stand beside your desk.
- After I spray your desk with cleaner, clean your desk.
- Throw your paper towel in the trash can and get your book off the shelf.
- Take out the following items:
- Binder/paper
- Book
- pencils / pen
- homework
- Begin your “Bell-Ringer” activity
Bell-Ringers
ALL Bell-ringers will be done on the weekly Bell-ringer sheet which will be turned in each Friday. If you are absent, write “absent” for that day.
Sheets will be graded at least once per 9 weeks.
Exiting the Classroom
- When I announce time, pack-up but remain seated in your desk.
- I will announce when books may be returned to the shelf.
- After the bell rings, I will dismiss you. Throw away trash as you leave the classroom.
Tardy Policy
Tardy is not arriving for class at the BEGINNING of the ringing of the tardy bell. All tardies will be handled as stated in the SCCS Student Handbook.
Absences & Makeup Work
- EXCEPT FOR THE END OF EACH GRADING CYCLE, you have 1 class day per absence to make-up work missed, with an excused absence.
- Students must make arrangements to complete assignments.
- TESTS may be made up after school or during your elective class.
Assignments
- You are expected to complete every assignment – the purpose is to provide you opportunities to practice what you are expected to master this school year.
- All papers should use the correct paper heading –
- First & Last Names
- Date
- Class period or section
- Assignment page or title
- TEN POINTS (10) ARE DEDUCTED IF WORK IS
- Written in any color other than pencil (math assignments) or blue/black ink (journals, writing tasks)
- Turned in without the proper paper heading
- Torn or ripped from spiral notebook
Homework & Due Dates
Homework will be due at the beginning of class! Remember it will be on the class website and you should write assignments in your notebook.
Returning Work
When I give test papers back to you, we will go over them, correct them, and put them in your file folder for me to keep. If you have questions, ASK.
All other returned work should be placed in your folder and kept with your notebook. This includes daily work,homework, bell-ringers, index card quizzes, worksheets, …
Assigned Seats
You are always expected to sit in your assigned seats. You are to sit up straight, no slouching or sleeping. No exceptions.
Attention Getter Signal
When I want your attention, I will raise my hand. You will respond by stopping what you are doing, looking at me and raising your hand.
Pencils or Trash Can Procedures
Mechanical pencils are required – bring extras!
Trash will be placed in the trash can on your way out of the class.
Restroom Procedure
You are to go at the appropriate times. This means do NOT ask to go during class. You will have a school-wide pass that may be used for emergencies only – ask during seat-work only.
Neatness
Please keep your area neat and clean, pick up paper, do not write on the desk, and do not move your desk unless working in groups. This is your classroom too. I want it to be pleasant for all of us.
Manners Matter!
Sickness
If you are unable to do your work, I will send you to the office. You will not be allowed to sit in class and do nothing (this includes putting your head down).
Food
There will be NO EATING in class unless I provide a snack as a reward. Any food must be in a closed lunch box or bag (invisible!).
You may have bottled water only. It must be in a closed (preferably plastic) bottle with a screw on cap.
PA Announcements/Visitors
Please listen to all announcements - NO TALKING!
Visitors will be greeted by the teacher only! Do not yell out to visitors or anyone in the hall or at the door.
Khan Academy
Each student must set up an account and complete assignments on
Khan Academy. Computers will be used in class and additional at-home practice is encouraged!
