Book Project #1

Read a book on or above your level. Select ONE of the following projects, complete it, and turn it in on or before Wednesday, November 9,  2022. All projects must include book title and author.

1. Life Size Character- Using butcher paper, wrapping paper, or some or other wide, long paper, trace yourself or a friend and create a life size character.  You character must be dressed/decorated as the main character from your book.  Include 8 items on your character’s clothing or in his/her hands that help to tell more about their role in the story. For each item included with your character, you must write a paragraph explaining the item’s relationship to the character or plot.  These paragraphs must be displayed on your life size character paper.   Be sure to include your character’s name, the book title, and author on the front of the page.

2. Book in a Box- Decorate a shoebox to represent the book.  The book’s title and author need to be included in the decoration.  Decorations need to be relevant to the story. Fill the box with objects, not pictures of objects, (minimum of 5) that symbolize different aspects of the story. The objects could represent setting, characters, events or any other relevant item.  Each item must have a corresponding note card with a detailed paragraph explaining how the item is connected to the story.

3. Make a Test- You get to be the teacher! Create a test for the book you have read. Include 10 true or false questions, 10 multiple choice questions, and 10 constructed response questions.  Constructed response questions should require the answerer to give details from the novel to support their answer. Also, be sure your questions cover the entire book, beginning and end. After writing the test, provide an answer key for your test. Be sure to answer ALL questions with as much detail as possible.  Label both the test and key with the book title and author. The test and key must be typed!! DO NOT DO THIS PROJECT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A PRINTER or PLAN TO TURN IN AT LEAST ONE DAY EARLY WITH MICROSOFT 365!

The most important part of these projects is to demonstrate that you have read the book!

Don’t wait till the night before to complete your project; it shows when you do!

BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!!
