Classwork & Homework Policy

ELA Homework: By the end of the year, children should be reading at least 45 minutes independently. Therefore, our homework this year will be to practice building our reading stamina. Please make sure your child is reading for the monthly amount at least 5-6 times per week.

ELA Classwork: Students are given ample time to work on classwork assignments in school before they are due. Sometimes students may need additional time to work on assignments  (especially if they leave ELA for chorus, instrument, GT, etc.)

Homework Consequences:

Math/Science/Social Studies Homework: Please refer to Mrs. Girard

Spelling/Writing/Reading Classwork:

For all ELA work that is missing: It will be scored as MISSING until it is received. I recommend checking Infinite Campus at least once a week to make sure your child is up to date on assignments. Please reach out with any questions you have.

If your child is sick/absent from school: they have the number of days they were absent to complete the missed work. (Example: Absent for 2 days, 2 days to make-up their work)

Long-term Illness, Family Emergency, etc: Please contact me explaining the situation and we will work together to figure out the best course of action.
