Mr. Williams 7th Grade Syllabus

 

 

Hello students and welcome to Mr. Williams 7th grade American History Class.  This will be a very exciting and informational class; my goal is to engage in various fun activities and have a successful year.

Methods of Instruction:

 

This course will be a combination of lecture, class discussion, engaging activities, and projects.  The lectures will draw upon information discussed in the text.  Visual aids such as PowerPoint presentations, Promethean Board activities, and videos will be used to further explain classroom instruction.  Students will be given both individual and group assignments throughout the course. 

 

Classroom Procedures:

 

1.  Bring your supplies to class everyday – Notebook, Textbook, Ink pen (blue or black)

            2.  Come in Uniform – Shirt tucked in; pants pulled up; ID around your neck

            3.  Respect yourself and your peers at all times.

            4.  No vulgar language, profanity, or personal grooming

            5.  NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES

            6. Stay in your assigned seat

            7. Raise your hand and receive permission to get out of your seat. 

 

Behavior Plan 2017-2018

 

  1. First, if a student is disobeying the classroom procedures, a discussion will take place with the student and I to review the classroom procedures. 

 

  1. If a behavior problem continues to occur after the student and I have discussed the wrongdoings of conduct; contact of the guardian will occur by note or phone.

 

  1. Lastly, if a student continues to disrupt the classroom environment, the student will be sent to the office for further discipline.

 

  • Severe offenses will bypass the three step offense protocols if necessary

 

 

 

 

These materials are necessary for class and should be available throughout the year.

 

 

 

Procedures:

 

Dress Code- All students are required to follow the Iberia Parish School Board uniform policy.  This includes correct shirts, bottoms, shoes, and socks.  All students must wear their school issued ID at all times.

Tardiness- Any student that is not in the class at the appropriate time frame will be subject to discipline for being tardy.  On the fourth tardy, a student will be given a major referral.

Homework- Will be given occasionally and is due upon entering class.  Homework will be checked for completion.

 

Make up work- When a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to receive their assignment(s) missed upon returning to school.  Assignments must be turned in the first day after the student return.  Any assignment(s) given before the student was absent must be turned in the day they return.  No exceptions.  Tests and quizzes must be completed within two days of returning to school.  Any work not turned in at all will be considered a zero.

 

Participation- Each student is encouraged to engage in classroom activities and follow classroom procedures.

  • Projects
