Parent Protocols and Screening Overview

 

Parents are encouraged to check symptoms of the child before attending school. Students will be required to have their temperature checked upon entering campus.  Any student with 100.4 temperature or higher will be sent to the isolation room. Students must stay home, inform the school, and notify their healthcare provider if the student has the following symptoms: headache, fever, cough, nasal drainage, sore throat, nausea, diarrhea, loss of taste, loss of smell.  A student must stay home if he/she may have been in direct contact with someone who has Covid- 19. They must inform the school.  Symptomatic students will be isolated and supervised until the student is picked up. It will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to promptly pick up the student from school. Students or staff members who have been determined to be in direct contact of a student with COVID – 19  will be asked to quarantine for 14 days and monitor for COVID symptoms. Direct contact is defined as being within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes. Seating charts will be maintained to minimize the number of students who will have to quarantine.

 

Requirements for students to return to school:

  1. 10 days after symptom onset OR 10 days after testing positive if you have no symptoms

  1. 24 hours fever-free without use of fever-reducing med

               AND

  1. Significant improvement of symptoms

               OR

  1. A written letter from Healthcare Provider stating student is not contagious
