Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new school year which will be a great year.  I am pleased to have the opportunity to teach your child for the school year.  Here is a list of rules, consequences, and rewards that I will have in my class.  I would like you and your child to go over them.

Rules

1.  No eating, chewing gum, or drinking in class.

2.  No talking without permission or being called on.

3.  No cheating, stealing, criticizing, or horseplaying.

Second offence- minor infraction

Third offence- major referral

Star of the day, Star time, Star of the week, computer time, educational games, and many others.  Students with no office referrals will also get school wide PBIS incentives.

Feelings

I feel that the classroom is a place where learning is shared between the students and the teacher.  I am  a person that believes in respect, and following rules.  On a weekly basis, I will allow students to do labs, experiments, and activities to follow our curriculum.  I will give home assignments, class assignments, group assignments and nine weeks projects.  I expect the students to do these to the best of their ability.  I will grade ALL assignments that I give.  Students are responsible for completing a science or social studies project and report for the school fair.

NEEDED SUPPLIES

one subject notebook (not spiral)                                    posters for projects

markers, colors, scissors                    construction paper blue or black pens                                        glue sticks

All graded materials will be kept on file.  All student work will be placed in the student’s interactive notebook.  Each nine weeks the student will have a nine weeks project, tests, worksheets, vocabulary quizzes, and many graded activities that will be due on a given date. For each day an assignment is late, points will be deducted.  Students will have word of the day, question of the day, and journals that will be graded each week.

Again, I hope that this year is a great year for you and your child.  I am looking forward to this year.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me so the concern can be dealt with.(909-3800 ext.3834 Or r[email protected] )
