Greetings!  Below are a few examples of excellent writing from my English II classes.  They are to be used as models, but have NOT been altered by myself or anyone other than the authors.  Therefore, they may contain minor errors.  These essays have been submitted to Turnitin.com and are the SOLE PROPERTY of their original authors.

MODEL CONSTRUCTED RESPONSE

Maupassant creates beautiful stories. But what gives his writing that extra pizazz and separates his writings from the rest?  It is the dialogue: "Fishing . . .but where can we go? To our island of course" (411).  This quote from Maupassant's "Two Friends," really stands out to the reader.  Initially when we think of an island, the first image in one's head is paradise, peace, and laughter. Yet, this friendly fishing trip quickly turns into a funeral when the two friends are killed by the Prussians. Guy de Maupassant snatches the reader’s attention through his dramatic twists and keeps it there until you read the last and final sentence of his works.
