1. Homework - Assignments vary between 10 and 30 points each.  Homework is graded on completeness, not correctness.  It adds up to a test grade each 9 weeks.  This is an easy A !!!!!!!
2. Accelerated Reader (AR) - There is a strong emphasis on AR at Neville Junior High School.  Students are STAR tested at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year.  This test tells me at which grade level your child is reading.  Your child will be assigned a number of points to earn each nine weeks.  Students are expected to earn 100% of their assigned points, as well as an overall quiz average of 90% or better.  The percentage of points earned and the overall quiz average are combined and averaged.  This average will be the AR grade entered on JPAMS.

3. Tests - Tests will be given every week depending on the length of the unit we are studying.  Tests will be worth 100 to 150 points.  Tests will include novel units, cold reads, and activities.
4. Quizzes, writing assignments and projects - There will be random quizzes, writing assignments and projects throughout the school year.  Though there are several steps in the writing process, I will grade only the finished project, unless part of the process is assigned as homework.  Quiz values will be between 20 to 100 points.
5. Extra Credit - NO EXTRA CREDIT WORK WILL BE GIVEN.  Students are expected to complete assignments as they are given.
