Students in Kindergarten through 1st Grade can complete their poster at home. Students in Grades 2-8 will complete their poster in the Art Room.
Posters should promote fire prevention and encourage fire safety awareness in the home, school and community.
POSTER CONTEST RULES:

Posters may not exceed 36x24 inches.

A maximum of four (4) colors only are permitted on posters. ( Black and White are not considered colors and may be used)

No TV or Cartoon characters.

Do not use lead pencil.

Only 1 entry per student
Nothing but the artwork and theme (“Cooking Safety Starts with You. Pay Attention to Fire Prevention.”) should appear on the front of the poster. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO HAVE YOUR CHILD’S NAME ON THE BACK OF THE POSTER.
All posters are due to Ms. Caswell by Friday, October 13, 2023.
Prizes:
A panel of judges will select the winning posters based on originality, clarity of message, and design.
The decision of the judges is final. Posters will be separated into divisions and are as follows:
Division 1: grades K-2
Division 2: grades 3-5
Division 3: grades 6-8
Division 4: grades 9-12
Division 5: Vocational/Technical Students
Division 6: Special Education grades K-8
Division 7: Special Education grades 9-12
There will be 7 Grand Prize Local winners, one from each division, who will each receive a Ninentdo Switch or Occulus Quest 2- Advanced All-in-one Virtual Reality Headset. The local winners will then move onto the County Level Judging and then to the State Level. The State Level Grand prize winners will receive a gift certificate representing the value of the cost of a computer/printer for the purchase of an electronic device of the participant’s choosing.
An awards ceremony will be held on December 6, 2023 at Bayonne City Hall.
