Assessment (Test) Recovery is a component of classroom intervention that allows students to recover a failing grade on a summative assessment.

  1. The opportunity is offered to students scoring below 75% on any assessment.
  2. Students who refuse to take a test, cheat on a test, leave a test more than 75% blank, or do not put forth effort as sufficiently documented by the classroom teacher are NOT eligible for test recovery.
  3. Students who score below 35% on an assessment will need teacher permission to participate in recovery opportunities.
  4. The highest re-score that can be attained through assessment recovery is a 75%C.
  5. Students are only allowed ONE (1) recovery opportunity for each summative assessment.
  6. Assessment recovery is NOT offered for post-tests and/or final exams.

Grading Period Recovery - is a component of classroom intervention that allows for students to recover an “F” that was earned for a marking period (9 weeks).

  1. Students who during the grading period, repeatedly refuse to take a test, cheat on tests, do not complete assignments, leave a test more than 75% blank, or do not put forth effort as sufficiently documented by the classroom teacher are NOT eligible for grading period recovery.
  2. Student must email or meet with teacher to request “Recovery Work” within one week of report card. Teacher will provide student with work that can be done (or re-done) to recover their failing grade.
  3. In order to recover a marking period grade, the recovery work must be completed by the end of the next grading period.
    1. If recovery is needed for the last grading period, the student must enroll in the district summer school program.
    2. A “C” is the highest grade that will be awarded for grading period recovery.

Cheating

Cheating INCLUDES, but is not limited to, turning in work that has been copied from another student, turning in another students’ work, and using someone else’s work to complete your assignment or assessment. This will result in a “0” for the assignment, a write up, and potentially jeopardizes the status of an honors students’ future in the Honors Program.

DO NOT share work with other students in Google, the teacher will be alerted when this takes place.

Absent Work/Make-up Tests/Tutoring

  • If you are absent, you have 2 “at school” days to submit the missed assignment.
  • Late Assignments - when an assignment is submitted after the deadline, points will be deducted from the overall score.
    • Make-up Tests are given during Business Department Tutoring times in one of the Business Labs.
    • Business Department Tutoring times will be before and after school – look for the signs in the Business hall to determine teacher availability.
