My name is Melissa Gagliardi (Deppe).
Ever since I was in kindergarten,
I've known that I wanted to be a teacher!
In 2004, I graduated with honors from
The College of New Jersey with a
The College of New Jersey with a
Bachelor of Science degree
in Elementary Education and English.

I began my teaching career by substituting for
maternity leaves at Magowan.
In 2005, my dream came true!
I finally had a classroom of my very own!
I taught 2nd grade for one year and
then moved up to 3rd grade for 11 years.
This year will be my 15th year teaching at Magowan
and my 3rd year teaching 4th grade.
In May of 2011, I received my Masters of Education in Reading and my Reading Specialist Certficate from TCNJ.

Now I teach a college class at night about Children's Literature at TCNJ. It's so much fun to share my love of books and reading with future teachers! Plus the college students love hearing all about my students!
On July 9th, I got married to my husband Greg!
He is a teacher too! Greg teaches Journalism at
Cherry Hill East High School.

On August 21, 2018, our daughter Mia was born.
We love her so much!
She loves to talk, walk, act silly, and go to the beach!
Mia makes us smile and laugh every day!
I'm sure Mia will come visit our class this year!
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, going to the movies, Harry Potter, Minions, cooking/baking, and spending time with my family and friends.
