Mathematics

 

This year our distrcit will be using the "Go Math" program for mathematics. This program is focused on helping each children to think critically, problem solve, and enhance their skills.  It is a very interactive program with hands on lessons and a strong connection to technology. 

 

 

 

Here are some of the topics we will cover in math this year.

 

               1. Place Value (using addition and subtraction)

               2. Multiplication

               3. Division

               4. Number Patterns

               5. Fractions (adding, subtraction, comparing, multiplying)

               6. Decimals

               7. Geometry (angles, geometric shapes)

               8. Measurement (customary and metric)

               9. Area and Perimeter 

 

Throughout the year in math we will be working on becoming stronger thinkers who can solve problems we face not only in math class, but in everyday life!  If you are noticing any struggles at home with homework please contact me to let me know.  In math each new topic continues to build on what we previously learned, due to this it is important to focus on any troubles in order to continue successful progress!
