Homework Tips!

Your child will be given homework assignments regularly.  Each student is responsible for completing their assignments and for turning them in on time.  Here are some suggestions for ways you can help your child gain the most from their homework experience.

Make homework rules together with your child.

Decide when and where it will be done and what will happen if it i s not completed.

Provide a place that is quiet for you child to do  homework (such as desk in their room or the kitchen  table).

Make sure there is enough light and that  distractions are limited.

Show an interest in your child’s homework and ask them to show it to you nightly.

Give your child a healthy snack before they begins  their homework.  This will help with concentration.

Let your child take a short break from homework if  needed.

Encourage your child to work independently.  Assist them only if needed.

Give your child positive words of encouragement, such as , "Great job," “I’m proud of you,” or “I knew you could do this all by  yourself.”
