These rules are in place because _learning__ is the top priority in room 86.  When there are rules there are __consequences___ to those who decide to break the rules.

BINDER ORGANIZATION

Your binder should be divided into 4 sections:  ___notes and grammar, ___culture____, ___vocabulary_____, & ___notebook check items____.

 

COURSEWORK

You are expected to complete _class assignments___ and _study__.  There will be weekly _quizzes_ and chapter/unit _tests___ approximately once each month.  Your classwork will be collected on the day of a _ chapter/unit _test__ for a notebook check.  Each activity is designed so that the student develops an understanding of the _grammar__ concepts and becomes familiar with the French _vocabulary__. 

HOMEWORK

Your homework each night is to spend _5 -10 ___ minutes reviewing the lesson of the day.  This homework will assist with comprehension and make learning the language easier. 

ABSENCES

If students are _absent__, it is their _responsibility____ to complete the __work_ that was _assigned__ the day that was missed.  The assignments will be on my website, http://www.oncoursesystems.com/school/menu.aspx?id=10994 Students can also get to the website by going to the __PHS___ website, clicking on _faculty__, then clicking on __my name__, and then selecting _my website___.  It is the STUDENT’s _responsibility__ to get and _complete__ assignments.  If a student is absent the day an __assignement__ is due, the teacher should _receive__ the assignment the next day.  If a student is absent the day the assignment was given, see _above___. 

TESTING

In order to have an accurate assessment of _student__ understanding of the presented material, there will be _tests_ in the classroom.  While a good _portion__ of the grade will be _classwork_, the other percentage will be _tests___.  If a student is _absent__ the day BEFORE the _test___, he/she __WILL BE______ taking the test because most tests will be announced at least _one week prior__.  Students will need to develop an _understanding_ of the importance of __preparation__. The day _before_ the test will be dedicated to a _review__.  All students in the classroom the _day___ of a __test___ will be _expected__ to __take the test__.  Students will be given the __opportunity___ to _re-take __ the test if they do not earn a decent _grade____.  Make-up _testing__ and retesting will be done AFTER _school___.  Students will not be allowed to take _tests_ during _school hours__.  This disrupts the _class__, other _students__, and this _teacher___.  __AFTER__ school ONLY.
